Argentina striker Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of the remainder of the World Cup with a muscle injury, according to reports. The 26-year-old forward’s absence will come as a huge blow to manager Alejandro Sabella as the Manchester City man is virtually assured of a place in his starting line-up when fully fit. Aguero’s club season was also disrupted due to a number of injuries and he was restricted to just 23 appearances for Manchester City en route to their second Premier League title. However, having fully recovered to take his place in the South American squad for the tournament in Brazil, to be struck down by yet another injury is a cruel blow.
