FC Porto is fast-becoming Monaco’s favourite retail outlet with reports in Portugal claiming the French side are readying a £42million offer for Eliaquim Mangala. Monaco signed Mangala’s former teammates Joao Moutinho and James Rodriguez during the summer and newspaper Record claims the Ligue 1 club will try to make it a hat-trick of signings from the Estadio do Dragao with a January bid. Defender Mangala has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs in recent months with Chelsea and Manchester City the ones most heavily name-checked. Indeed when Jose Mourinho first returned to Stamford Bridge reports claimed Mangala was his intended first signing. And when that deal failed to materialise the Mirror claimed that the Blues would return with a January bid in an effort to ward off Monaco.
