UL-Lafayette has fired head football coach Mark Hudspeth, according to a report. The Daily Advertiser reported that Hudspeth informed the team of his firing at a meeting on Sunday morning. The university issued a statement after the meeting, confirming the decision. The Ragin’ Cajuns (5-7, 4-4) ended the 2017 regular season with a 63-14 blowout loss at Appalachian State – the worst conference loss in the seven-year Hudspeth era, which began with four consecutive 9-4 records and four straight New Orleans Bowl victories.
