Tony Allen has developed into one of the best defenders in the NBA. After winning a championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008, Allen has built a reputation for being a lock-down defender that can stop most of the league’s best players. Even at 36 years years old, Allen is still one of the best perimeter defenders in the league, and he is drawing interest from many teams. On Feb. 1, the New Orleans Pelicans traded Allen to the Chicago Bulls to acquire Nikola Mirotic. Obviously, Allen is worth nothing to the Bulls in regard to their long-term future. The Bulls are rebuilding and could ship Allen to get a quality player or a draft pick. Hence, Allen may not stay in Chicago very long. In other news, the Oklahoma City Thunder lost their best defender, Andre Roberson, who suffered a torn patella tendon in January.
