Many believed that it was the Los Angeles Lakers or bust for Anthony Davis’ camp this summer, but it turns out that wasn’t entirely true.

Marc Berman of the New York Post reported on Wednesday that Davis’ agent Rich Paul tried to get the New Orleans Pelicans to trade the six-time All-Star to the New York Knicks as hard as he tried for a trade to the Lakers. Berman notes that Paul values the New York market but that the Knicks lost interest and never actually made an offer after the Pelicans pushed them to get a third team involved. Thus, Davis was dealt to the Lakers instead.
