Liverpool have reportedly submitted a bid for Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly, although the Reds remain short of the Italian club’s valuation of their man.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Reds have lodged a bid that is some way off Napoli’s supposed £90m valuation of their star man.

The report claims that Liverpool have offered around £58m for the man who is also thought to have been of interest to both Manchester City and Manchester United in the past. That offer, obviously, is some £30m-plus short of what the Naples club are hoping to get for the 29-year-old.

Jurgen Klopp is apparently keen to add to his squad this summer. But after seeing the club pull the plug on a deal for Timo Werner, a bigger bid for Koulibaly seems unlikely at this stage.
