“With the second pick in the 2017 NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers select…” Most expect NBA commissioner Adam Silver to announce UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball as the Lakers’ first pick. However, with more than a week before the NBA draft, the team is reportedly split on who to pick at No. 2. According to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, the Lakers have been having a “healthy debate” between Ball and Kansas forward Josh Jackson. This news comes after Jackson and Kentucky point guard De’Aaron Fox worked out with the team on Tuesday. The Lakers are attempting to bring Ball back for a second workout before the June 22 draft, according to Turner. Along with his boldly-spoken father LaVar, Lonzo has gone on record saying he wants the Lakers to pick him when the time comes, which is why L.A. is the only team that has worked out with Ball so far.
