Left-handed reliever Jordan Norberto had a career year in 2012 for the A's, establishing himself with a 2.77 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched. He thought he had cemented his place in the organization. Then he hurt his elbow this spring, and when the A's needed room on the 40-man roster in early May for Daric Barton, they released Norberto. Needless to say, the 26-year-old reliever wasn't thrilled.
