Andrew Norwell is going to get paid this offseason, but one Panthers beat writer doesn't think it's his current team that will be handing out the cash. Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer thinks it's "highly doubtful" the Panthers will be able to re-sign Norwell given the contract he will be demanding this offseason combined with Carolina's available cap space ($15-20 million), and the $45 million extension the team gave to Norwell's running mate, starting right guard Trai Turner, last offseason. Teams typically can only afford to put so much money into one position, and signing Norwell to what could become a record contract for an NFL guard would strain the cap and limit Carolina's other potential moves.
