According to ESPN, the Grizzlies have claimed guard Beno Udrih off waivers after he agreed to a buyout with the New York Knicks. In the search for a third point guard, the Grizzlies opted to go with Udrih over the high-profile Jimmer Fredette who is set to be a free agent after being bought out by the Sacramento Kings. According to Marc Stein, the Grizzlies failed to agree to a deal with Fredette, though one can probably guess that playing time was likely the issue here. Bringing in Udrih gives the Grizzlies injury-relief as the basketball Gods haven't been too kind to the team this year.
