Could Logan Thomas‘ replacement under center come from someone currently not on Virginia Tech’s roster? That could be the case according to a report from the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, the Times-Dispatch‘s Mike Barber is reporting that Michael Brewer has been in contact with members of the Hokies football program regarding a potential transfer to the university. The news on Brewer’s potential interest in the Hokies comes a couple of weeks after the quarterback confirmed that he would be visiting an unnamed ACC school at the end of this month. He’s also expected to visit an unnamed SEC school at some point after visiting the ACC program. Clemson has also been mentioned as a potential destination. In-mid January, Brewer announced that he would be transferring from Texas Tech after graduating this coming May. Brewer wanted to transfer to either Texas or TCU but was denied a release to those Big 12 schools, leading to a very public pissing contest between the two sides.
