It's unclear how much of an interest the Packers have in bringing back RB Cedric Benson, but it appears they're willing to meet with him to see how much progress he has made with the Lis Franc fracture in his foot. ESPN.com reported that Benson would meet with the Packers and Wednesday, but offered no other details. Benson is an unrestricted free agent and can sign with anybody in the NFL. Signed after the Packers suffered injuries at running back in the preseason, Benson became the team's lead back and was just starting to look like a fit in Mike McCarthy's offense when he suffered the injury against Indianapolis in Week 4. Benson needed surgery to repair the fracture and was put on injured reserve. According to ESPN, is almost completely recovered from the injury.
