The bus carrying the Elizabethton Twins, a minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, was involved in a fatal accident early Tuesday morning according to KARE 11. The bus was carrying 30 players and one coach. No one aboard the bus was injured, the Twins have confirmed. According to the report, the bus was struck head-on by a car driving the wrong way on Interstate 295 northbound near Jacksonville, Fla. The driver of the car was killed. The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. ET. Investigators are trying to determine if the driver was under the influence of alcohol, according to the report. The Elizabethton Twins play in the rookie-level Appalachian League.
