After retiring from the NBA following the 2008-09 season, Bruce Bowen has worked in basketball media, most recently serving as an analyst for ESPN. According to a report by Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Bowen is in line for a change of scenery as he will serve as the color commentator for Los Angeles Clippers games during the 2017-18 season. Bowen replaces Michael Smith, who has served in that role for FOX Sports Prime the last 19 seasons. Play-by-play announcer Ralph Lawler has been the voice of the franchise for the last 37 years. While Bowen never played for the Clippers during his 13-year NBA career, he’s certainly familiar with southern California, as he played his college basketball at Cal-State Fullerton.
