Should the Denver Broncos land a veteran quarterback in the offseason, they're likely to focus on the offensive line (again) with their could-be top-five NFL Draft pick. A potential first-round candidate is Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson, whom the Broncos have ranked as the top lineman in the 2018 class, a "scouting department source" tells Matt Miller of Bleacher Report. Via Miller: The Denver Broncos have major questions at quarterback, but general manager John [Elway] may be hesitant to use another first-rounder on the position after spending one on Paxton Lynch in 2016. If Elway and Co. decide against drafting another quarterback in Round 1, they will have options elsewhere. Spending a top-five pick on an offensive guard might not seem like a franchise-saving move, but Denver desperately needs a reliable left guard. Notre Dame's Quenton Nelson looks like one of the best prospects there in years. He may ultimately be a trade-down option if the Broncos decide to swap first-rounders with a team in need of a quarterback, but there's no doubt he'd be an instant-impact player. Miller's correct on a couple of fronts here.
