Aston Villa’s opening bid for Ollie Watkins is set to be worth £18 million, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

It would perhaps be little surprise to see Watkins leave for a Premier League club this summer. The forward was outstanding as Brentford came desperately close to sealing promotion last season.

The Daily Mail suggests that the Villans are one of the sides keen on Watkins, and adds that the 24-year-old is interested in working with Dean Smith having played under him with the Bees.

And Villa are about to confirm their interest with an opening bid for the striker. Unfortunately however, it appears that it is unlikely to be accepted.
