ESPN have claimed that Kieran Tierney was urged to tone down his commitment during Arsenal training, as the Gunners squad had been accustomed to less strenuous sessions under both Arsene Wenger and Unai Emery.
Tierney, 23, joined Arsenal last summer from Scottish champions Celtic and struggled with hip injuries during his early months at Arsenal – before dislocating his shoulder in just his 11th Gunners outing. But since the return to football, he has starred.
The Scotland international has started the last four Arsenal league matches – with the Gunners winning three of those four outings and conceding only once. He is now expected to start against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.
