The Redskins announced the signing of free agent nose tackle Ron Brace Thursday morning. The 6-foot-3, 330-pound Brace was a second-round pick (40th overall) out of Boston College by the New England Patriots in 2009. He has appeared in 39 regular season games, seven of them starts. For his career, Brace has 39 tackles and one forced fumble. He was released by the Patriots on Dec. 29. The Redskins have starter Barry Cofield and backup Chris Neild, who missed all of last season with a torn ACL, as the other nose tackles under contract. Cofield’s backup last season, Chris Baker, will be a free agent this spring.
