Contract talks between quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins have officially been shelved until the end of the 2017 season. Though, that has not stopped Cousins’ father, Don, from shedding a bit of light into last summer’s negotiations. Cousins reportedly would not have signed any contract with the Redskins — even one making him the NFL’s highest-paid player. This news is quite jaw-dropping. But it presumably explains why Cousins never agreed to terms with Washington.
