On Thursday's SportsCenter, ESPN's Adam Schefter mentioned DeAngelo Hall as a prime candidate for offseason release. Schefter grouped Hall with Nnamdi Asomugha and James Harrison. "The Redskins are over the salary cap," Schefter explained. "... Hall is scheduled to make $8 million, that would come off the books for next season. He will be a candidate that the Redskins will look at to try to get back underneath the salary cap." Washington is currently about $4 million over the cap. Cutting Hall would get them under.
