Although Brian Orakpo has already signed his franchise tender, the Redskins’ star outside linebacker remains hopeful that he’ll get a long-term extension prior to next season. “We’ll see, we’ll see,” Orakpo told CSNWashington on Wednesday. “I can’t speak for [General Manager] Bruce [Allen] and whoever’s in charge of that from that standpoint. But from my standpoint, absolutely I want something done long term.” The Redskins and Orakpo’s agent have until July 15th to work out a multi-year agreement. If they don’t, he’ll play the 2014 season for the franchise tag amount of $11.45 million. Orakpo made his comments after having lunch with 14-year-old Andrew Christianson and his family at Trump National Golf Club. Andrew is this year’s patient hero for the Brian Orakpo Leukemia Golf Classic, which will be held April 28th at the Sterling, Va. club.
