When the Reds sent outfielder Tommy Pham to the Red Sox just prior to the MLB trade deadline on Aug. 1 it was announced the return was a player to be named that was not currently on the Boston 40-man roster. On Wednesday Cincinnati got its player-- and he's a local product.
Mason High School graduate Nick Northcut, an infielder drafted in the 11th round in 2018, was acquired. The 23-year-old slashed .216/.274/.489 with 30 HR and 75 RBI in 397 at-bats between High-A and Double-A this year.
