The Red Sox will tender a contract to outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. by Monday’s deadline, according to a report from Alex Speier of the Boston Globe. Bradley Jr. had previously been mentioned as a speculative non-tender candidate.
The deadline to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players is tonight. There’d been some question among MLB teams about whether the Red Sox might non-tender Jackie Bradley Jr. That’s not going to happen: Per source, the Red Sox are tendering a 2020 contract to Bradley.— Alex Speier (@alexspeier) December 2, 2019
Bradley Jr. is projected to make $11 million in his final year of arbitration in 2020 and appears to be a prime candidate to be traded as Boston looks to get under the $208 million luxury tax threshold.
