FEBRUARY 11, 6:05pm: The two sides are discussing a Major League deal, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic tweets.
5:41pm: The Red Sox are closing in on a contract with free-agent outfielder Kevin Pillar, tweets MLB Network’s Jon Heyman. He’s represented by All Bases Covered Sports Management.
Pillar, 31, was non-tendered by the Giants earlier in the winter after hitting .259/.287/.432 with a career-high 21 home runs in 2019. He’d been projected by MLBTR contributor Matt Swartz to earn $9.7MM in arbitration.
