Spurs coach Gregg Popovich put it best: One more to go. His team dominated the penultimate game of their exhibition schedule never trailing after the final minutes of the first quarter and leading by as many as 33 in a thorough rout of Jacque Vaughn and the out-manned Orlando Magic. Vaughn the ex-Spurs point guard spoke pregame of treating his former team’s seven-game battle with Miami in last season’s Finals as a de facto basketball clinic. The Spurs provided an extension on Tuesday shooting 53.4 percent from the floor collecting 28 assists on 47 baskets and putting six players in double-figures — all without Tony Parker who was given the night off by Popovich. Once more the highlight was the aggressiveness of Kawhi Leonard who poured in 19 points on 15 shots in just 21 minutes. Combined with an overwhelming performance from the bench — 70 points almost 60 percent of the Spurs’ output — the Spurs looked more than ready for the regular season just three nights after getting waxed in Miami.
Recap: Spurs 123, Orlando 101
