Javi Sanchez was secured by Real Valladolid via a loan deal this past summer. An injury to his ankle in preseason and the emergence of Mohammed Salisu has left the former Canterano with just the meager one appearance to his name. He has yet to debut in La Liga for his new club.

Despite the lack of game-time, Real Valladolid have pressed forward and are finalizing negotiations with Real Madrid for the permanent transfer of the 23-year-old center back. According to a report in MARCA, the fee will be around €4 or €5 million with Madrid retaining a buy-back option as well as a percentage of any future sale.
