Stoke City are preparing for a battle to keep Asmir Begovic this summer, with Real Madrid emerging as a potential destination for the £15 million rated goalkeeper. Carlo Ancelotti, the Real manager, is considering a bid for Begovic after the World Cup Finals as he faces the prospect of losing current No 1 Diego Lopez to AC Milan. Ancelotti attempted to sign Begovic twice while in charge at Chelsea and with the Spanish giants evaluating new goalkeeper targets, the Bosnia international is believed to be on the radar. Stoke will demand between £12 million and £15 million for the 26 year-old, who has also been frequently watched by Manchester United and Manchester City, and are expecting to receive offers before next season. Begovic will appear in Brazil this summer for Bosnia and can enhance his reputation even further if he impresses in a group which includes Argentina, Nigeria and Iran.
