It had been five days since Mariano Rivera suffered his season-ending knee injury, but the reality of it didn't sink in for Joe Girardi until Tuesday. The manager has grown accustomed to seeing Rivera convert quick, easy saves, but he watched new closer Dave Robertson walk the tightrope in the ninth inning to nail down the Yankees' 5-3 win over the Rays, working in and out of a bases-loaded jam to earn his first save as the Bombers' new closer. "I was thinking, 'Jeez, you better not blow your first one,'" Robertson said. "'You better not blow your first opportunity or Mo might come in here and smack you around.'"
