The Toronto Raptors have been fined $25,000 for comments rap star Drake made about NBA MVP Kevin Durant at last weekend’s OVO Fest that the league has deemed a violation of anti-tampering rules. Drake, official global ambassador for the Raptors since last September, asked the concert crowd how they’d react if Durant — set to become a free agent in 2016 and thought to be coveted by the Raptors — were to play for Toronto. The Oklahoma City Thunder all-star was in town for the concert weekend. A senior NBA executive confirmed an ESPN report that Durant was the target of what the league calls a public recruiting pitch by the rapper.
