Gregg Popovich does not pull any punches when discussing his views on U.S. President Donald Trump and it appears as though the San Antonio Spurs head coach has some NBA players in his corner. On Tuesday, Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan praised Popovich for speaking out against Trump by suggesting that the Spurs coach would be a good fit for the Oval Office. “I love Pop. Every word he said, you gotta stand behind Pop,” DeRozan said. “Popovich for President, for sure.” On Monday, Popovich called Trump “a soulless coward who thinks that he can only become large by belittling others.” The comments were in response to Trump saying that former President Barack Obama and other commanders in chief “didn’t make calls” to families of fallen soldiers.
