The addition of Houston to the American League West this season will not have a dramatic effect on the Texas Rangers' television schedule. There will continue to be many late night telecasts for locals. In 2012, with Houston in the National League Central, the Rangers had 19 games that began at 9 p.m. or later in the Central time zone. The number of late-night games drops this season to 17, all against AL West opponents. The breakdown is seven late-night starts at the Los Angeles Angels, six at Seattle and four at Oakland.
