Former Seahawks star safety Earl Thomas famously told Jason Garrett to come get him if the Cowboys ever got the opportunity. Dallas had that chance this year in free agency, but Thomas' price tag was too rich.
A similar request two months ago ended up with better results for the Cowboys.
Veteran receiver Randall Cobb told Dak Prescott at the NFL Honors awards in February, "Hey man, come get me."
A month later, the free agent signed a one-year, $5 million deal with Dallas.
"Once I talked to everybody I knew this was the place," Cobb said Thursday from the Cowboys' draft party inside the Ford Center. "I definitely believe in this team. I felt like I wanted to be on a team that was a contender and I definitely believe that we have the ability, it's just putting the pieces together."
Cobb, who spent the last eight seasons in Green Bay, started thinking the Cowboys were a realistic possibility when Cole Beasley signed with Buffalo.
