Post-draft time in the NFL often means spring-cleaning in front offices throughout the league. Along those lines the Rams are hiring Ted Monago of the Chicago Bears as a national scout. Rams general manager Les Snead confirmed the hiring, which was originally reported by the Chicago Tribune, but did not want to comment. That's because the paperwork on Monago has yet to be finalized, but also because Snead’s in the midst of some other restructuring in the Rams’ scouting department. Monago joined the Bears in 2001 as an area scout and moved up to executive scout, with a focus on the Southeastern Conference, last year. Most scouting and personnel contracts run through the end of draft each year, so May and June usually is the time when front offices are re-shuffled. “He’s a hard-working guy — he loves every single thing about his job,” said an NFC scout, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
