Los Angeles Rams secured a major coup by trading for Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford. The Florida-born player is a proven talent in the NFL over the last decade or so. But the same can’t be said for Jared Goff.
The 2016 1st overall pick threw for 3,952 yards with 20 passing TDs against 13 interceptions in 2020. He was traded to the Lions in exchange for Goff along with two 1st-round picks, and a 3rd-round pick.
In 2019, Goff agreed to a 4-year extension worth $134 million featuring $110 million in guarantees. Despite popular opinion, the Rams claim that they don’t regret the deal.
