The Oakland Raiders are clearly interested in bringing Marshawn Lynch on board for the 2017 season, but they’re reportedly not married to the idea. “Maybe the Raiders are bluffing, but my understanding is that as much as they liked meeting with Marshawn Lynch, and were impressed with the shape he’s in, it was communicated they’re willing to walk away from a potential deal,” wrote Albert Breer of The MMQB. Breer also mentions that the draft “seems to provide a natural deadline” but notes talks have been positive between the two sides. The Seattle Seahawks still own the rights to Lynch. And while the Raiders have already reportedly worked out a contract situation with Lynch, they would still have to work out a trade with Seattle to land the veteran running back. And that’s where things could get potentially sticky.
