Jason Cole of B/R reports that it’s unlikely the Raiders will move quickly to try to sign veteran RB Adrian Peterson at the start of free agency. According to Cole, the Raiders waiting to see if fellow free agent RB Latavius Murray returns. Beyond that, Cole says that the Raiders like their other young running backs, so there’s really no urgency from their end to bring in Peterson. There has been some talk that the Raiders could move on from Murray this offseason, but it sounds like there’s at least a chance that he could return to Oakland. Peterson has also been linked to teams such as the Buccaneers and Giants. Although, recent reports have downplayed interest from these two teams in Peterson. The possibility still exists that he could return to the Vikings. The Vikings announced Tuesday that they will not exercise Peterson’s 2017 option, which means he will become an unrestricted free agent next week.
