The Raiders signed running back Kory Sheets on Wednesday, locking down a player who excelled in Canadian football but never gained traction in the NFL. While Sheets is currently the only experienced tailback on the roster, the Raiders are expected to re-sign Rashad Jennings as their primary tailback. Sheets will fight for a spot as a complimentary rusher with 2013 sixth-round draft pick Latavius Murray and whomever else the Raiders sign this offseason. Sheets played well for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders in 2012 and 2013, and is the reigning Grey Cup MVP. He was on the Carolina Panthers practice squad in 2011, and his only career rush came in 2009 for the Miami Dolphins. He was originally signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent.
