With Jon Gruden at the helm of the Oakland Raiders for a second stint as head coach, the team is making some sweeping changes in order to right the ship after a disappointing 6-10 season. Among the potential changes Gruden could make during this NFL offseason is parting ways with Oakland native and fan favorite, Marshawn Lynch. Although nothing is set in stone nor is Gruden seemingly crazy about the idea of releasing the five-time Pro Bowler, the fact of the matter is it is a very realistic possibility. Gruden isn’t messing around in his return to Oakland as he has a vision for what he wants to see on the football and whether Lynch fits remains to be seen. If the Raiders do indeed release Lynch, they’ll have to do it very soon, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. That’s why it won’t be a surprise if the Raiders decide within the next three weeks to move on from Marshawn. His contract has a $1 million roster bonus that comes due on March 18.
