Vince Young will not be the Green Bay Packers' backup quarterback. The former first-round pick who was signed on Aug. 5 was released on Saturday. Young confirmed the news on his Twitter account with this post: "Thanks to the @packers for the opportunity great organization great team wonderful fans good luck this season." It marked the second straight season that Young the third overall pick of the Tennessee Titans in the 2006 draft failed to make a team coming out of training camp. He was released by the Buffalo Bills last August and spent all of the 2012 season out of football.
