Chris Dickerson had an MRI on his right hamstring and because he’s not available the Orioles purchased the contract of outfielder Jason Pridie from Norfolk. Pridie who has played 121 games for Minnesota the New York Mets and Philadelphia batted .269 with 15 home runs and 57 RBIs with the Tides. Manager Buck Showalter said that the Orioles were close to calling Pridie up a few times during the year but never did. Pridie is playing center field in place of Adam Jones. To make room for Pridie on the roster the Orioles placed Manny Machado on the 60-day disabled list. Jonathan Schoop is making his major league debut at second base. He was recalled on Sept. 3 but hasn’t played and wasn’t going to except in an emergency until the team was mathematically eliminated from the postseason. “Frankly I was hoping he wouldn’t play at all” Showalter said. Steve Clevenger who grew up within walking distance of Oriole Park is making his first start in Baltimore. Showalter said that he hasn’t decided whether Chris Tillman will make a final start on Sunday. Because Boston is still in the hunt for the American League’s best record he could pitch. It doesn’t like as if Tsuyoshi Wada will be added to the team Showalter said.
