The Red Wings have turned out to be who they thought they would be: a team fighting to the wire for a playoff spot, that could miss the playoffs for the first time in 21 seasons. "I've heard all year we're not consistent," Red Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "We are consistent. You go through each month we're one game or two games over (.500) each month. This is what we are."
