The Predators continued to cause havoc in the Pacific Division on their West Coast trip. The Predators used a strong second period to beat down the San Jose Sharks 3-0 at the SAP Center on Saturday, staving off playoff elimination and keeping alive hope that the postseason isn’t just a pipe dream. It was the Predators’ second straight win against a team jockeying for the lead of the Pacific Division. On Friday night, Nashville beat the Anaheim Ducks, providing an opening for the Sharks, who were one point behind and trying to catch the Ducks for the Pacific lead. Instead, Predators goaltender Carter Hutton earned the first shutout of his NHL career. The victory gave the Predators (35-32-11) points in seven of their past eight games and wins in their past three.
