A light purple mark graced the area under Ryan Suter's left eye. It was a reminder from the hit he took Saturday from Coyotes forward Shane Doan. The hit left the defenseman with what was described as an upper-body injury and kept him out of Tuesday's game at Columbus. On Wednesday, Coach Barry Trotz said he expected Suter to play against the Blackhawks today at Bridgestone Arena. Suter sounded slightly less committed to the idea, but said he wanted to give it a go. "I feel good. I don't know if I'm for sure playing tomorrow, but I feel good," Suter said. "Look forward to getting back and helping out." The Blue Jackets beat the Predators 4-0, dropping Nashville to 4-7-1 this season when Suter is not in the lineup. "If you're a competitive person, you want to play, you want to be out there every shift and help your teammates win," Suter said. "You don't look at those stats because it doesn't matter, it just matters about winning. I hope I help the team win and I want to get back to help the team win."
