The dreams of an NBA All-Star Game in Portland have been put on hold until at least 2022. "We were told by the league we won't be a finalist for the All-Star bids that were put out for bid," Portland Trail Blazers CEO Chris McGowan said during Monday's media day. The 2018 All-Star Game will be held in Los Angeles and the 2019 game is set for Charlotte. The locations of the 2020 and 2021 games have yet to be determined, but the league has already ruled out Portland as a potential destination. The NBA has repeatedly said that Portland doesn't have enough large, centrally located hotels to accommodate the league over an All-Star weekend. But that could change with the 600-room Hyatt Regency, which is currently under construction within walking distance of the Moda Center and scheduled to open in 2019.
