Pitt senior Lamar Patterson and Duke freshman Jabari Parker, who will lead their nationally ranked teams against one another in an ACC game at 7 tonight at Petersen Events Center, received conference honors this week. Patterson and Wake Forest's Travis McKie were named ACC co-players of the week — a school-record third honor for Patterson — while Parker was named freshman of the week for the fifth time this season. Patterson averaged 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in victories over Clemson and Maryland. The 6-foot-5 swingman shot 52.4 percent (11 of 21) from the field and 88.9 percent (16 of 18) on free throws. He followed a 13-point, six-assist, four-rebound game against Clemson with a game-high 28 points, with seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals at Maryland Saturday. Patterson also was named ACC player of the week Dec. 2 and Jan. 13, and he is the first player in Pitt history to win conference honors three times in a season. McKie scored a season-high 24 points in Wake Forest's win at Virginia Tech, its first road victory in two seasons, and made four free throws in the final 30 seconds to beat Notre Dame. Parker averaged 15.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks a game for Duke, which beat Miami and Florida State.
