The Pistons will begin this week working out prospects they are considering for their first-round pick, the eighth overall pick. The NBA draft is June 27 and the Pistons will start the process of narrowing their choices for their fourth straight lottery pick. The team doesn’t release the names of its workout participants beforehand — instead choosing to release a partial list at the end of the week. The only known prospect coming to town this week is Duke power forward Mason Plumlee. He will visit Friday according to his agent, Mark Bartelstein. Plumlee working out for the Pistons doesn’t mean he’s being considered. He is considered a possible late lottery pick, but the visits are also the beginning of the files teams keep on each player. The team could consider signing him as a free agent in the future or the player could be part of a trade package. The Pistons also have two second-round picks (37th and 56th overall).
