The Pirates have reached a six-year contract extension with outfielder Starling Marte. The deal, confirmed by a source familiar with the negotiations, includes two club options. MLB Network Radio analyst Jim Duquette reported the deal is worth $31 million. If true, it would be twice as rich as the deal the Pirates gave outfielder Jose Tabata in 2011.
