Shortly after the Reds wrapped up their series with the Washington Nationals, Brandon Phillips stood in a clubhouse hallway – huge ice pack on his left hamstring – and contemplated what to do with his day off in St. Louis. "Wherever I go, they're going to boo me," he said. "They booed me in the Lacoste store." It wasn't Phillips' shopping choices that had the Cardinal faithful miffed. It was what Phillips said in 2010 about the Cardinals. We can't repeat all of it, but "whiny" and "little" were among the words. Reds fans are hoping Phillips gets booed loudly tonight at Busch Stadium. That means Phillips, who's been dealing with a strained left hamstring, is in the lineup. The awful series in Washington, where the Reds won only the finale of the four games, re-enforced the value Phillips represents to the Reds. Phillips was limited to one pinch-hit appearance in the first three games.
