Brandon Phillips lost his appeal to Major League Baseball today regarding a scoring decision from Monday. MLB upheld the ruling of an RBI double/error on left fielder. Phillips, who scored on the play, appealed for an inside-the-park homer at the urging of Reds teammates and some other club personnel. On the play, Indians lef fielder Johnny Damon had contact with the side wall. The ball rolled between Damon's legs and toward the outfield wall, and Phillips ran all the way around to score.
Phillips appeal denied
