Philippe Coutinho has played his last Liverpool game, according to Spanish media reports, but it will take British football's biggest transfer deal for him to realise his Barcelona dream. The Brazil international was the subject of three bids from Barcelona in the summer – the last of which added up to £114million – but all were rejected out of hand by Liverpool, who also turned down a written transfer request from Coutinho. Liverpool's approach last August was forthright, with the club's owners issuing a statement that he was not for sale at any price but there has been a shift in the attitude and the fact the club will not reaffirm those robust sentiments has cast doubt on his future.
